Twice a year the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich) organizes a free event called «Treffpunkt Science City». This science programme offers an insight into recent developments in research and shows emerging technologies that could have a big impact in the future. The event is designed for every age group and consists of presentations, demos and exhibitions.
This spring the topic was “The Perfect Material” and we were excited to present our microfibrillated cellulose at the event. We had interesting discussions with the visitors about how MFC could replace fossil-based materials in applications and even got some new ideas for the use of MFC. Meanwhile, the children had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the material by playing with our “MFC-sandbox” and make some MFC-bunnies 😉
